YOGA FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT WITH BRENDON SAKEY

Yoga For Managing Stress:
This workshop will include a variety of yoga, relaxation and mindfulness practices specific to managing stress. 
  • A discussion on the nervous system, including the stress response and the relaxation response and why these self-care practices are essential. 
  • Asana (poses) for reducing tension and developing strength, flexibility and vitality.
  • Pranayama: the power of the breath for balancing and calming the nervous system.
  • Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) and Meditation to harmonise body, mind and emotions.
  • Tools for developing yoga, mindfulness and self-care in daily life.
  • This workshop is open to everyone- experienced yogis and new yogis.
Workshop Details:
When:           Sat 19th September
Where:          Theosophy Hall, Orewa
Time:             2-4:15pm, followed by afternoon tea (for those who can stay on)

About Brendon:
Brendon has a wide variety of experience including teaching yoga in community classes, on retreats, to athletes in gyms, to men in prison, and on yoga teacher training courses. Brendon has also integrated yoga into health services including drug and alcohol rehab and palliative care. Brendon is also a registered social worker and has a particular interest in stress management and self care and enjoys seeing others empowered towards their own health and well-being.
