ABOUT ME:
Hi there, my name is Brenda Neville. I live in Orewa with my husband and our three children. I have recently set up my own business called EQ Matters NZ.
I am an EQ Expert specializing in stress management through life balance coaching and mindfulness/EQ coaching.
I run ‘Mindfulness for Stress Reduction Courses’ as well as facilitate workshops and seminars based on emotional intelligence and positive psychology. I also offer one on one life coaching sessions.
I worked in the education sector for almost twenty years both in teaching and in leadership. I have always been very interested in personal development and in emotional intelligence (EQ). I completed a post-graduate certificate in Educational Leadership two years ago. This reignited my interest in EQ and since then I have been completing courses on mindfulness, EQ and life coaching.
While we are all born with IQ, we have the capacity to develop and learn internal and interpersonal skills that will lead to us having a greater EQ. Mindfulness is a practice that helps to develop our EQ. Having a high EQ means that we can recognise, use and manage our emotions as well as the emotions of others in far more effective ways. Having a high EQ helps us to manage and develop our relationships better as well as having a far greater acceptance of ourselves and the world around us. Having a high EQ helps us to be better people, happier people and wonderful role models for all our loved ones to aspire to.
Science has proven that the practice of mindfulness is a very effective practice for the management of stress. The over-use of technology as well as the increased levels of stress in our society has led to a growing need for mindfulness in our everyday lives. The practice of mindfulness also offers enormous benefits for our health and general well-being.
I completed a mindfulness course at the beginning of this year and then followed that with an intensive Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course. I have since qualified as a Life Coach and am currently completing a mentoring programme to accelerate my accreditation to the International Life Coaching Federation (ICF).
I am very excited about my new business venture and feel very passionate about being able to help people whether it’s through life balance coaching or attending courses on mindfulness and EQ.
Consider joining me on the mindfulness journey and enjoy the peace and acceptance it will bring to your life!!
